Cheney School

About our recent Ofsted Inspections:

Mr Rupert Moreton, Head of School said ‘We are very pleased with Ofsted’s report and the progress that has been made already this academic year, especially the ‘calm and positive ethos throughout the school’.  Ofsted recognised the progress in outcomes as the school performs ‘particularly well in English, mathematics, and languages’ and ‘English across the school is a real strength’.  We are also, rightly, proud that Ofsted recognised the ‘excellent’ provision for our most vulnerable students.  The children and young adults are a credit to the school and cannot be praised highly enough.  I would like to thank our staff, parents, governors and students for all the support I have received in such a short period of time’.

Jolie Kirby, Head of the Community School Alliance Trust said ‘The Trust is delighted that the recent “Good” inspection of Cheney School recognised the many strengths of the school and the progress made since the last inspection.  The leadership team, staff and governors work with integrity, skill and determination to make sure Cheney School is a great community.  Mr Moreton recently joined Cheney School as the new head teacher and his highly visible and capable leadership is driving forward further improvements at a real pace.  We always strive to ensure that we are making continuous improvements and are already working hard to hit even greater heights’.

‘This is an outward –looking academy. As a result the academy has a well-established culture of change and continous development.’
